OF COURSE I PAWRTICIPATE IN NATIONAL PUPPY DAY! Like you, I was shocked to learn this isn’t every day, but it turns out there’s a specific day for all things puppy. For me, that means extra time set aside for my furry friend, and making sure we can do things she likes. Since the weather has been pawsitively amazing here, I know we’ll be hitting the dog park and enjoying the great outdoors.
One thing I find myself doing a lot, with people and with my dog, is imaging things from their point of view. Some people might find that strange for a pet, but I think it’s important to consider the way the world works for our furry family members. I make sure to give her boundaries, routine, and love, so that her world makes sense to her as much as possible. I honestly have one of the sweetest dogs – I think in part to great socialization and training from a young age – and her biggest life aspirations seem to be spending time with people and playing with toys. Two of my dog’s favorite phrases are surely “dog park” and “go on the deck,” preceded only by “treat.” We will definitely do all those things, and I know she’ll be extra happy, as she deserves. In fact, I would go so far as to say that knowing my dog is happy, contributes to my own happiness as well, and I’d like to believe the reverse is true for her.
Let me know what fun you and your pup get up to today!
Happy National Puppy Day!!!
