In case you don’t reside in Dallas, don’t care about football, or maybe live in a hole, let me tell you the Dallas Cowboys play the Greenbay Packers in a playoff game this weekend. While it was great to see Eli Manning and the Giants officially end their season, their loss sends the Packers right to our doorstep. Now, generally I can get on board w/ the Packers. Rodgers and Munn… I wouldn’t kick ’em out of bed. In fact, coming from Iowa, people basically liked the Bears, Vikings, or Packers – and let’s face it, Rodgers is fun to watch.
But that’s all in the past. I don’t know about you, but I’m not messing around. The Cowboys defied all odds; w/ injuries to their franchise QB and star receiver early in the season and rookies in both the QB and RB spot, I don’t think anyone would have guesed they would be where they are now. This is serious business!!
In fact, I can say this is the only time in my life I’ve officialy boycotted cheese. I’m not sure how I will manage that with my game day pizza, but I’ve never met a food puzzle I couldn’t solve. My apartment is laden with no cheese cut outs and I’m officially in Anti Packers mode.
Given that I watch almost every football game, and tend to talk about it in my every day life, people sometimes get confused…. “I thought you liked the _______” ( insert team of someone who played in that game ). Like most great TV shows, the longer you watch the more the characters grow on you, the greater your appreciation of the story line becomes. And like that, there are players outside of the Dallas Cowboys that I like. When watching games, I tend to have a team I’m pulling for one way or another, but if in the time you’ve known me, you’ve somehow become under the impression that I’m not a Cowboy’s fan, then you really must not know me very well.
Going into the game I’m ready for a high-powered offense, a hail-mary ready defense, and some cowboys magic that I’ve grown to love. You might have heard that the Dallas Cowboys have the best cheerleaders of all time, and you heard right – this li’l girl is ready to GO!
